Global Fashion & Beauty Editor, Branded Content Expert
New Yorker based in London, Authorized to work in UK (holding Settlement Visa)
As a global fashion and beauty editor whose career spans both digital and print, I provide a unique and invaluable perspective on the desires and concerns of consumers around the world. After beginning my career in New York at internationally renowned publications (W and Glamour), I decided to merge my two passions – travel and fashion/beauty writing. My desire to see the world, while maintaining a career in publishing, led me to the role of senior beauty editor at Cosmopolitan Philippines, then as beauty writer at Harper’s Bazaar India and L’Officiel India, and later as Strong Women editor at Stylist in London.
I made the jump from print to digital at MissMalini Entertainment Ltd. as their fashion & beauty director. MissMalini is India’s #1 digital platform with a daily reach of 6 million unique non-paid visitors per month across 200 countries and an aggregate of 10 million social media followers. Under my direction, my team launched the brand's first fashion and beauty verticals while increasing branded content revenue to over 50% of total earnings. Clients include Revlon, L’Oréal, Vero Moda, Unilever and Swarovski.
One of my many responsibilities was to head our annual partnerships with Amazon India Fashion Week, Lakmé Fashion Week and India Couture Week as their official and only social media partner – being the only editor to cover every single show during all 5 fashion weeks. I also oversaw the production of all fashion and beauty videos (some reaching 1.1 million views) which involved interviewing A-list celebrities and fashion designers. In addition, I managed BohoStar.com, an affiliate e-commerce platform of curated edits featuring shoppable links. Retail partners include Revolve, Farfetch and Agent Provocateur.
As the Strong Women editor at Stylist, I launched the magazine's first health and fitness vertical from scratch – creating a presence across Instagram, digital and newsletter. For the first six months, I was a one-woman show – single-handedly creating content for and overseeing each platform. The brand is just over 1 year old, and boasts 50k followers, 90k subscribers and over 2 million monthly unique users in the UK alone (with an 890% increase in organic traffic from Jan 2020 once I began overseeing the digital series). Thanks to the success of the newly built brand, Strong Women has secured revenue from event sponsorship, commercial partnerships, and launched a paid membership programme. Because of this, I was shortlisted for the BSME 2021 Awards for Launch of the Year.
My extensive experience with SEO and analytics allows me to track and optimise traffic and referrals (I increased search traffic by 64% within 1 month), whilst my knowledge of programs such as CrowdTangle enables me to identify trending topics amongst our competitors to guide our content strategy.
